our story
This project started when Terri spotted some colourful unwanted plates that were put out on the curb. She decided to save these perfectly good plates from the fate of the landfill and give them a second life. Since then the plates have been used at multiple birthday celebrations and have helped to reduce the mountain of waste at the end of every party.
Shafina was also on a crusade against that same mountain of waste and had been collecting and lending out party supplies to neighbors and friends.
Then one-day Shafina met Terri and they decided to tackle this mountain together.
Since the summer of 2019, the response to this project has been overwhelming. As demand increased and the plates made their rounds – logistics became a challenge. That’s when Stephen joined the crew and Plate Share was born.
Plate Share is on a mission to reduce single-use plastics and make the world a little better for our kids.
